This year’s Legacy Series pays tribute to Bernard Lockhart, the visionary founder and former Executive Director whose passion for community and jazz left an indelible mark. With a mission rooted in fostering arts access across Birmingham, Bernard established Magic City Smooth Jazz and its flagship event, Jazz in the Park — platforms that brought smooth jazz into underserved neighborhoods and cultivated community spirit.
